Please hold me

used baby blankets, used synthtic stuffing, thread
'Please hold me' is an attempt to disrupt societal norms in a pleasant and amusing way. This forlorn but undeniably cute and oversized stuffed animal sits alone against the gallery wall. On closer inspection the viewer will realize they are welcome to handle him in whichever way they desire, though it is suggested that they treat him with care.
Bunny was hand-sewn from thrifted baby-blankets and hand-me-down embroidery thread, and materialized based on a sentimental object of my own. The labour and process of creation was both tedious and meditational. His creation took time, but even more-so energy, specifically physical energy rather than emotional or mental. This allowed my process to act as a way to break away from the stress of other daily routines and responsibilities. In many respects Bunny works as a therapeutic art-piece, meant to give comfort. His presence is meant to be generous to the viewer.
