About Julia
Julia Mills grew up on the north end of Quadra Island on the coast of British Columbia. Part of her inspiration will always be her childhood--exploring the forests, gardening, swimming, and boating, and days spent inside of books. She is interested in all artistic mediums but thus far has mainly focused on painting, drawing, photography, and clothing. Through her art she explores themes such as mental health, growth & transition, and social constructs. She is interested in the way things work, the systems we live within and the gentle balance of working with and against the flow of societal expectations.
Julia completed her BFA in visual arts at UBC in the Spring of 2015. She is now studying expressive arts therapy at Langara College.
